3 Tips on How to Exhibit on a Budget
If you’re doing research online for a brand-new exhibition stand which is all singing and dancing, we urge you to step away from your computer and divert your eyes. I have a sneaky suspicion you might not see the costs you are looking for.
Dependant on your stand size, will naturally determine the cost of your overall stand. But this doesn’t mean you can’t be thrifty and save on certain aspects of your display.
Being bold, creative and adventurous doesn’t cost a penny. Free, yes. Easy, no. It will require a little more planning and a case of thinking outside of the box, but nevertheless can be done.
Here are some tips to keep you from dipping into your budget as well as making the most of the exhibition displays you already have. Exhibition stands and displays are investments, so let’s show you how to treat them like one.
Use what you have
The age old saying of ‘If it’s not broken, don’t fix it’ springs to mind.
If you’ve exhibited before and have a Pop-Up stand and accessories kicking about – make the most of them. Most stands are well made and are designed to be used time and time again.
If the logo or company details haven’t changed, there’s no reason you can’t dust it off and use it for your next exhibition.
On the other hand, if you don’t have a stand there’s a whole world of printed displays and exhibition units. Keep an eye out for a basics range, which doesn’t compromise on quality, you just receive a few items less. A basics range provides you with the essentials so at the very least you have a fully branded display.
Revamp
When you’ve found your older stand, upgrade what you already have. Give your exhibition displays the kiss of life they deserve with fresh graphic panels. This gives you the opportunity to rework your design, adding modern twists whilst keeping your business details relevant and up to date.
Adding replacement panels is a cost-effective way to transform your old stand into a current display stand.
Tip – Hold on to the old panels as you may find a use for them. Having multiple sets of panels is handy when you’re attending different events with a different audience.
Complete your own artwork
When it comes to replacing the panels, the idea is to update the artwork and create a separate design. A lot of exhibition companies will have graphic designers who are on hand to complete the design, but this is where you need to think twice.
Whilst it’s a fantastic service and can be time saving for you. The design service can be costly and if you’re working to a budget, it isn’t a necessity.
If you know how to use photoshop, this will be a walk in the park. If not, educate yourself with the software and take on a new challenge. Having some design skills under your belt could be just enough to get you through the exhibition season.
With a few extra tricks like these, you’ll be well on your way to cutting the costs at this years’ shows and events. Saving some money is great for the budget and after all, every little helps.
