Exhibition Height Restrictions & What To Avoid

Taking over your exhibition design is hard enough without getting caught out on height restrictions within the booked stand space. The height restrictions will vary based on the venue, the type of space booked and location, so before you get too far into your plans be sure to confirm these details with the event organiser.

The most popular stands are either a shell scheme space or a space only stand. The shell scheme wil have a height restriction within the frame, averaging around 2.3m, where as the space only averages at 3m (but not limited too). Outside of these sizes, you still have access to a whole collection of stand designs, all of which are tailored for heights between 1.5m & 3m.

Starting with the midi heights, you won’t be sacrificing design, as we’ve used the same trusted materials and style but at a compact size. On the other side of the scale, the 3m high towers over your competitors with expansive panels and even more room for branding. Whichever option is required, we’ve made sure you’ll have the space to advertise and make an impact in any stand space size.

How to expand on stand design in a smaller space?

As you can’t build up, there’re no reason why you can’t add more accessories into the floor space. Slimline accessories like plinths and leaflet dispensers are great additions and can be used again and again.

As many accessories can be branded, what you don’t have in height can be achieved with other elements.

What will happen if you exceed the height restriction?

There are 2 outcomes of exceeding the height restriction:

  1. The stand physically won’t fit. This could be down to overhead frames and beams not being able to withstand a higher option
  2. Even if the stand fits, it’s possible you’ll be asked to take the stand down.

It’s best to air on the side of caution and follow all guidelines. Aim for the right height, rather than missing out on a great opportunity to showcase your brand.

Can I change the height of my display for other stands?

In most cases, the answer is no. Once a stand has been purchased at a certain height, you’re unable to adjust the size to fit with varying restrictions across a number of tradeshows.

What’s more the panels will be cut and designed to a set size, making it hard to repurpose for another stand height.
